Chef Robert Carter has done it again. His new restaurant in ION is in the news and is always being reviewed by magazines, newspapers and bloggers. The food is amazing of course, the FOH staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and Chef”s BOH kitchen staff work very hard to prepare their dishes to Carter’s requirements. If you have not had the opportunity to visit Carter’s Kitchen, add it to your plans soon and it will instantly be one of your favorites!
A brand new presentation from the bar is a Sea Island Fig Colada! Made from local Sea Island rum, figs, pineapple and coconut, shaken and served over ice, it gave me instant flashbacks to a Saint Croix’s, “Painkiller” but with a great twist.
An other new brunch offering by Chef is the good old Charleston Classic, Shrimp and Grits. Of course, Chef Carter is able to make this low country favorite that much better with extra coarse, stone ground, grits ad local fresh shrimp.
We had the privilege to create the photography for Carter’s Kitchen when it opened and then recently add a few more food photography images to their growing collection during a special luncheon for Charleston Magazine.
